The Allan R. Crawford Forum on Science, Business and Technology is organized to bring together scientists, businesspeople, and technologists whose creative work has been catalyzed and influenced by Allan Crawford.

Schedule

The meeting will begin at 11:45am with a lunch, and will include technical presentations from nine speakers from 1pm until 6pm. A mixer will follow at 6pm, with a dinner to follow at 7pm.

Colleagues and their guests are invited to attend the entire program beginning with the lunch, or to attend just the social part of the program beginning at 6pm.

  • Professor David Atherton and Brian Mergelas: Development of a method for detecting broken prestressing wires in large diameter concrete pressure pipe.
  • Dr. Morrell Bachynski: David among the Goliaths: The development of undersea branching multiplexers.
  • Larry Bantle: The Web changes everything.
  • Bill Keith: Piloting a 737 in the Arctic.
  • Scott Lewis: Focusing and growing a GPS company.
  • Dr. Fraser Mustard: The influence of science and technology on prosperity and human development.
  • Paul Spafford: The world of mergers and acquisitions.
  • Dr. John Tiso: How to build your own vineyard.
  • Dr. Lloyd Watts: Reverse engineering the brain.

The venue will be The Glenerin Inn, 1695 The Collegeway, Mississauga, L5L 3S7, (905) 828-6103.

Reservations

The rates (in Canadian dollars) for attending the forum are $90 for the Full Day Program w/ lunch and dinner, or $50 for the Dinner/Mixer only. Overnight accomodations are available at the Glenerin Inn for $145/night (single occupancy, add $10 for double occupancy).
